Email marketing is sending planned campaigns and automated messages to people who have opted in to hear from your business, such as customers, past inquiries and newsletter subscribers. TLG Marketing designs the emails, segments your list, builds automated sequences in your email platform, and tracks which messages lead to sales and inquiries.

Getting more from contacts you already have

Every business collects email addresses: past customers, people who filled in a form, visitors who signed up for updates. Many of those contacts hear nothing after their first interaction. Regular, useful email keeps you in front of people who already know you, which is where repeat business and referrals tend to come from.

We start by auditing what you already have: list size and quality, sign-up forms on your website, past campaign results and any automations already running. That shows where the quickest gains are, whether that means cleaning an old list, adding a sign-up offer or fixing a welcome email nobody has looked at in years.

Campaigns and automation we build

  • Promotions and announcements. One-off emails for launches, offers and events, designed to match your brand.
  • Newsletters. Regular updates that keep your business in mind between purchases.
  • Automated sequences. Welcome series, quote follow-ups and re-engagement emails that run on their own once set up, as part of our wider marketing automation work.
  • Segmentation. Lists split by interest, location or buying history, so each group gets messages that apply to it.
  • List growth. Sign-up forms and offers on your website that turn visitors into subscribers.
  • Templates. Responsive email templates designed and coded by our team to display properly on phones and desktop email apps.

Platforms and reporting

We build and send campaigns in Mailchimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact, Campaign Monitor and Brevo. Reporting goes past open rates to clicks, form submissions and, where your platform connects to your store or CRM, revenue by campaign. Email also gives leads from paid search and Facebook ads a follow-up path, so fewer inquiries go cold.

Match the email to the customer’s next step

A new subscriber needs a different message from a customer who has already bought. Start by mapping the moments that matter: joining the list, making an inquiry, receiving a quote, completing a purchase or returning after a long gap. Each sequence needs a clear purpose and a rule for when it should stop.

For a service business, that may mean useful information while a prospect considers a quote. For an online store, it may mean helping customers understand a product they bought and showing relevant next options. The available customer data and your platform determine which messages can be triggered reliably.

Check the list and the message before sending

Confirm how contacts joined the list and preserve unsubscribe and suppression records. Review sender-domain authentication, bounced messages and complaint signals before increasing volume. Test links, personalization, mobile layouts and the destination page; a polished email still loses inquiries if its form is broken.

Compare email programs by scope and outcomes

The number of campaigns, templates, audience segments and automated journeys affects the work. Include platform subscriptions, integrations and reporting in the budget discussion. Your email plan should also state who supplies offers, who reviews messages and how changes are requested.

Use clicks, inquiries and connected sales data to evaluate the program. Open rates are an imperfect signal and should not decide the strategy alone. Our GA4 services can support website measurement, while cold email has its own separate prospecting scope.

// Questions

Email marketing: common questions

Can you work in the email platform we already use?

Usually, yes. If your list already lives in a platform, we work inside it. If you don’t have one yet, we recommend one that suits your list size and the tools it needs to connect to.

How often should we email our list?

Often enough that subscribers remember you, and only when you have something useful to say. For most businesses that means a regular newsletter plus campaigns around launches and offers, adjusted as we watch unsubscribes and engagement.

What’s the difference between email marketing and cold email?

Email marketing goes to people who opted in to hear from you, such as customers and subscribers. Cold email reaches prospects who haven’t, and it needs different setup and rules. We offer both, with cold email run as a separate service.

Do we need a new email platform before starting?

Not necessarily. First check whether the current platform can support your list, templates, automations and reporting. Moving systems adds work and can disrupt existing journeys. A change is useful when it solves a clear limitation, with contact preferences and working sequences preserved.

How do you distinguish campaign revenue from additional sales?

A platform may credit a sale to an email under its attribution rules, even when other marketing helped. Reports should name the measurement used. Where feasible, a controlled test with a comparable group can help assess whether the email produced additional sales.
