HVAC marketing helps heating and air conditioning contractors book more repair calls, system replacements and maintenance agreements in the areas they serve. TLG Marketing runs Local Services Ads and Google Ads paced to the weather, builds service-area and replacement pages, manages your Google Business Profile and reviews, and tracks every call to the job it produced.

How homeowners buy heating and cooling

An HVAC customer is usually in one of three situations. The system quit during a heat wave or a cold snap, and they will hire whoever can come today. The system still runs but is old, loud or costly to operate, so they collect several replacement quotes and compare equipment, warranties and monthly payments. Or they simply want a tune-up before the season turns. Each situation needs its own message, page and budget, and a campaign that treats them alike spends money on the wrong calls.

What TLG runs for HVAC contractors

  • Weather-paced search ads. Google Ads campaigns split into repair, replacement and maintenance, with budgets raised when forecasts turn extreme and moved toward planned work when the weather settles.
  • Local Services Ads. Verification for the Google Verified badge, which replaced Google Guaranteed in October 2025, plus job types, service area and a routine for answering leads fast. Google’s own help pages note that missed calls may count against your responsiveness.
  • Replacement pages. Landing pages for heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, furnaces and central air that explain options in plain language, show your financing partner’s terms and invite an in-home estimate.
  • Maps and reviews. A Google Business Profile set up as a service-area business, with a review request after every completed call.
  • Member retention. Email and text reminders, sent to customers who opted in, that renew maintenance agreements and fill the schedule each spring and fall.

Calls, bookings and what they’re worth

An HVAC lead only counts once it becomes a booked job, so we set up call tracking by campaign and record calls with the caller notice your state requires. Reports separate repair calls, replacement estimates and maintenance sign-ups, show how many your dispatchers booked, and give the cost of each. When a replacement estimate closes weeks later, we connect the sale to the ad that started it, so budget follows revenue.

Licensing and offer rules

State contractor boards set advertising rules of their own. In California, for example, the Contractors State License Board requires your license number on all advertising, websites included. Heat pump rebate and incentive programs change often, so we date every rebate claim and name its source. Your team approves each financing offer before it runs. Our developers and designers build the pages and tracking in-house, the same team behind work for 200+ clients since 2006.

// Questions

HVAC marketing: common questions

How do you keep HVAC leads coming in mild weather?

Mild weeks are when tune-ups, maintenance agreements and planned replacements sell best, so we move budget toward those offers and email past customers about them. When temperatures swing hard again, spend shifts back to repair searches and Local Services Ads.

Can you advertise financing on new heating and cooling systems?

Yes, with care. Under Regulation Z of the federal Truth in Lending Act, an ad that quotes a monthly payment or a down payment generally has to state the APR and repayment terms too. We use the exact terms your lender approves and keep the disclosure beside the offer.

Should we run Local Services Ads and regular Google Ads together?

Usually, yes. Local Services Ads charge for valid leads such as calls and messages, while search ads let you target specific jobs, such as ductless installs or commercial rooftop units, with your own landing pages. We compare cost per booked job across both and fund whichever earns it.

How much does digital marketing cost?

It depends on your market, your goals and which channels you need. Tell us your monthly budget on the form and we'll recommend the mix that budget can support.

Do I need every channel?

No. Many businesses start with one or two channels, usually search and a better website, and add more once those produce leads.

How do you report results?

You get regular reports on spend, leads and cost per lead by channel, so you can see what each dollar produced.
