Local SEO helps a business appear in Google Maps and the local results when people nearby search for its services. TLG Marketing sets up and manages your Google Business Profile, builds pages for the areas you serve, keeps your business details consistent across directories and helps you earn reviews, then reports which searches led to calls and direction requests.
Who local SEO is for
Local SEO matters most when customers search, compare and call within a few minutes. Plumbers, dentists, law firms, contractors, salons and clinics depend on the three map results that sit above the organic listings. If a business down the street shows up there and you don’t, the call goes to them before your website ever loads.
It’s also the right fit when you serve an area without a storefront, open a second location, or move and need Google to catch up with your new address.
What we do
- Google Business Profile. Categories, services, hours, photos and posts set up correctly, then kept current. Our Google Business Profile management covers the day-to-day upkeep.
- Location and service-area pages. Pages for real locations and distinct service needs, with accurate coverage, relevant local examples and a clear way to call. We add a separate area page when it helps customers, not simply to repeat the same offer under another town name.
- Citations. Your name, address and phone number matched across the directories and data sources customers and search engines rely on, with duplicates and old addresses cleaned up.
- Reviews. A consistent routine for requesting honest reviews from customers, without incentives or filtering for positive feedback, plus help writing replies.
- Local links. Mentions from chambers of commerce, sponsorships, trade associations and local press.
From map views to phone calls
Rankings only matter if they bring in work. We track calls and direction requests from your Google Business Profile, tag calls and form leads from your website, and show you which searches and which neighborhoods produce them. That helps us decide which existing pages to improve, where a useful new page is needed and which services deserve more attention.
Running several branches or a franchise? Our franchise SEO applies the same work across every location. Owner-run firms with one office often pair local SEO with our small business SEO services.
Local SEO without a storefront
Businesses that travel to customers need accurate service information and an eligible Google Business Profile. Our guide to SEO for service-area businesses explains the choices. For help comparing the work and costs in a proposal, read our SEO pricing guide.
Plan local search work around real coverage
Start with the services you can deliver and the areas you can reliably reach. Check whether your website, business profile and directory listings describe that coverage consistently. A useful location page helps someone decide whether you can serve them; it should explain the relevant services, contact route and real location or service-area details.
Compare local performance market by market
A single ranking checked from one location does not describe a whole market. Review visibility across the areas that matter and separate business-profile interactions from inquiries recorded on your website. Direction requests can be useful for a storefront, while qualified calls and booked appointments may matter more for a business that travels to customers.
For multiple branches, compare results at the location level as well as across the company. That helps distinguish a weak page or outdated profile from differences in demand and competition. Our franchise SEO services address the coordination involved.
What affects the local SEO workload?
The number of eligible business locations, existing listing errors, website condition, service range and competition all affect the plan. A new location, a relocation and an established branch with poor visibility need different work. Define those needs before comparing monthly fees or committing to a fixed number of new pages.

// Questions
Local SEO: common questions
Do I need a storefront to rank in Google Maps?
No. Service-area businesses such as plumbers or mobile detailers can hide their street address on Google Business Profile and still appear in the map pack for the areas they cover. Google still needs a real business address to verify the profile, but customers won’t see it.
How do reviews affect local rankings?
Google considers relevance, distance and prominence in local results; review count and ratings can contribute to prominence. We help you request honest reviews from customers without incentives or screening for positive feedback, and respond to both praise and criticism.
What if my business has more than one location?
Each location gets its own Google Business Profile and its own page on your website, with its address, hours, reviews and local details. That way each branch can rank in its own part of town instead of all of them competing for one.
Is Google Business Profile management the same as local SEO?
Profile management covers the information and activity on your Google Business Profile. Local SEO also includes relevant website pages, technical access, business listings, links and measurement. The two work together, but keeping a profile current does not replace improving the website.
Can you help with local visibility across several markets?
Yes. We can organize the work by service and market, with accurate location information and reporting for each relevant area. The plan should reflect where the business actually operates and what customers need to know there.
How long does SEO take to work?
Most sites see movement within three to six months; competitive searches take longer. Your roadmap sets expectations search by search, so you know what to expect and when.
How much do SEO services cost?
It depends on how competitive your market is and how much work your site needs. Tell us your monthly budget on the form and we’ll show you what it can realistically achieve.
Will you work on my existing website?
Yes. We work on WordPress, ecommerce platforms and custom-built sites. If the site itself is holding you back, our developers can fix it or rebuild it.
What do you need from me to get started?
Access to your website, Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and a 30-minute call about your customers, services and goals.
